Participating Cinemas: Kino Cinemas
The world’s biggest international short film competition, The 48 Hour Film Project, is back in Melbourne in 2011 for a 4th year of extreme filmmaking, with this year’s winner receiving the chance to screen their film at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival 2012 and all screenings taking place at Kino Cinemas.
Over a wild, sleepless weekend in mid-October 2011, teams of Melbourne filmmakers will write, shoot, edit and score a film in just 48 hours and this year promises to be the biggest 48HFP that Melbourne has ever seen.
The annual competition gives filmmakers from Melbourne and across Victoria both the chance to compete in the world’s largest time-based film competition and a chance for incredible exposure. “The 48HFP is both an artistic challenge and an incredible experience that has the potential to expose some very talented filmmakers,” said the festival’s director Tommy Blum.
All of this year’s screenings are taking placeat Kino Cinemas on Melbourne’s Collins Street between the 4th and the 6th November 2011, with awards being presented at a Gala screening – The 12 Best Films of the 48HFP Melbourne 2011 – on 11th November 2011.
