The iconic event is Australia’s premiere short film festival, screening Australia’s Top 100 short films in all genres including drama, comedy, documentary, animation and digital media. The short film competition awards over $40,000 worth of cash and in-kind craft awards, including a $10,000 prize for Best Short Film – the highest cash prize for short film in the country!
As well as the short film competition, St Kilda Film Festival features SoundKILDA – Australian Music Video Competition. Audiences are treated to music video viewing as they’re meant to be seen – large and loud on the big screen.
The Festival also includes targeted youth programsand an International component.
Alongside the films, St Kilda Film Festival hosts industry networking events such as Industry Open Day and the forum series.
