Oscar-winner Danny Boyle (127 Hours, Slumdog Millionaire) returned to the theatre to direct this visionary production of FRANKENSTEIN with Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock, Tinker Tailer Soldier Spy) and Jonny Lee Miller (Trainspotting). It will return to Palace Cinemas in June.

Childlike in his innocence but grotesque in form, Frankenstein’s bewildered creature is cast out into a hostile universe by his horror-struck maker. Meeting with cruelty wherever he goes, the friendless Creature, increasingly desperate and vengeful, determines to track down his creator and strike a terrifying deal.

Urgent concerns of scientific responsibility, parental neglect, cognitive development and the nature of good and evil are embedded within this thrilling and deeply disturbing classic gothic tale.

FRANKENSTEIN, new play by Nick Dear based on Mary Shelley’s classic gothic novel, has won a host of awards including Best Actor at the Evening Standard Theatre Awards and Critics Circle Theatre Awards (awarded jointly and for Benedict Cumberbatch respectively), Best Designer at Critics Circle Theatre Awards and Best Director at the recent What’s on Stage Awards.
