From the Award-Winning Director, Kenneth Lonergan, who brought us You Can Count On Me comes MARGARET starring Anna Paquin; along with Matt Damon, Mark Ruffalo, Jean Reno, J Smith-Cameron, Matthew Broderick, Allison Janney & Kieran Culkin.
MARGARET centers on a 17-year-old New York City high-school student (Paquin) who feels certain that she inadvertendtly played a role in a traffic accident that has claimed a woman's life. In her attempts to set things right she meets with opposition at every step. Torn apart with frustration, she begins emotionally brutalizing her family, her friends, her teachers, and most of all, herself. She has been confronted quite unexpectedly with a basic truth: that her youthful ideals are on a collision course against the realities and compromises of the adult world.
Long delayed because the studio insisted the film’s running time could not exceed 150 minutes, eventually, Martin Scorsese and Thelma Schoonmaker contributed to editing this final version which Lonergan approved and earned 5 star reviews from Time Out, The Daily Telegraph, and The Guardian.

"Paquin creates that rarest of things: a profoundly unsympathetic character who is mysteriously, mesmerically, operatically compelling to watch."
