Preview Screening with Prosecco on arrival to farewell 2023!Watch Trailer
Palace Cinemas invites you to a special New Year’s Eve Event featuring an advanced screening of Justine Triet’s gripping Palme d’Or winning thriller, Anatomy of a Fall.
This exclusive preview will be screened 25 days before the film’s general release and includes a celebratory glass of prosecco on arrival!
The French director’s provocative crime drama has been freshly nominated for four Golden Globes off the back of a history-making win of the coveted Palme d’Or (Best Film award at Cannes Film Festival) which made Triet just the third woman to win the festival’s highest honour. At the heart of the psychodrama is phenomenal German Actress, Sandra Hüller “at the top of her game” (The Evening Standard) who has already won the 2023 European Film Award for Best Actress and the 2023 Los Angeles Film Critics Association Award for Best Lead Performance for her role in the film.
For the past year, Sandra (Hüller), a German writer, her French husband Samuel (Samuel Theis), and their eleven-year-old son Daniel (Milo Machado Graner) have lived a secluded life in a remote town in the French Alps. When Samuel is found dead in the snow below their chalet, the police question whether he committed suicide or was killed. Samuel’s death is treated as suspicious, and Sandra becomes the main suspect. Little by little the trial becomes not just an investigation of the circumstances of Samuel’s death, but an unsettling psychological journey into the depths of Sandra and Samuel’s conflicted relationship.
With surgical precision, Anatomy of a Fall puts the intimate complexities of a couple’s failing marriage on trial with a masterful script from Triet and co-writer Arthur Harari, aided by formidable performances from Hüller, Samuel Theis, and Milo Machado Graner.
Our annual New Years’ screenings are hot property, so be sure to book in advance to ensure you don’t miss out!
