The Beguiled adapted by Sofia Coppola from Thomas Cullinan’s novel of the same name, unfolds in a girls’ school in the state of Virginia in 1864. As the Civil War rages, The Miss Martha Farnsworth Seminary for Young Ladies has been sheltered from the outside world – until the day a wounded Union soldier is discovered nearby and taken in.
Lost in Translation
Starring Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson, Lost in Translation follows the story of two Americans in Tokyo. Bob (Murray) is a movie star in town to shoot a whiskey commercial, while Charlotte (Johansson) is a young woman accompanying her workaholic husband. The two cross paths in a luxury hotel bar, a chance meeting that blossoms into a surprising friendship. Charlotte and Bob venture through Tokyo, having often hilarious encounters with its citizens, and ultimately discover a new belief in life’s possibilities.
