Join us for the Environmental Film Festival Australia (EFFA) 2019, showcasing the best environmental films from around the world over four big days at Palace Westgarth Cinema!
See five films chosen for a range of age groups – all underpinned by inspirational stories of people taking action to curb the environmental changes taken place around us.
KIDS SHORTS + SEEDPLANTING WORKSHOP – Kids can watch six short films carefully curated to highlight environmental challenges and wins, followed by a seed planting workshop in the cinema courtyard with CERES!
YOUTH UNSTOPPABLE FILM + YOUTH FORUM – Secondary students can be inspired by a documentary capturing the global youth movement as told from the perspectives of young people, then unite, share stories of their environmental actions, and plan positive action for the future!
TTITIXE FILM + PANEL – Exploring a Mexican family’s connection to the land and the loss of knowledge over time, this film will be followed by a special conversation with local Indigenous Elders and leaders on connection to country.
AUSTRALAISAN SHORTS + PANEL – Be inspired and learn more about the work, actions and campaigns of local people and in neighbouring countries tackling climate change head-on, followed by a conversation led by Bush Heritage Australia.
INTO THE JUNGLE + PANEL – Join EFFA for a special closing night event, including this inspirational documentary capturing a Melbourne conservation couple’s quest to save the Tenkile tree kangaroo in PNG. Hear firsthand from Jim and Jean Thomas, then enjoy drinks and canapes in the cinema courtyard!
