Don’t miss Molly Manning Walker’s triumphant debut feature, How To Have Sex, which earned her three BAFTA nominations and a Cannes Film Festival Award at a Movie Club Preview.

Director and cinematographer Molly Manning Walker’s debut feature was met with critical acclaim for her vibrant, compassionate look at sex, friendship, consent, and the sweet smell of a boozy sunburned summer holiday that paints an exhilarating, moving, and painfully familiar portrait of young adulthood.

It’s supposed to be the best summer ever. Tara (2024 BAFTA rising star winner Mia McKenna-Bruce), Skye and Em touch down on the Greek party resort of Malia for the vacation to end all vacations, the girls trip every British teenager ticks off at the cusp of adulthood. Tara, the last remaining virgin, is on a mission to change that: and her best friends are causing chaos right alongside her. The 16-year-old drinks and dances her way through the strip – with all its messy bars and grimy nightclubs – until she meets a couple of boys on the neighbouring hotel balcony who she hopes might give her a summer to remember.

Reviews:

★★★★

“Glimpses into a very specific corner of girlhood’s ups and downs and the unshakeable beams of sisterhood make Walker’s “How To Have Sex” unforgettably relatable.”

– RogerEbert.com

★★★★

“Walker often lets the camera linger on McKenna-Bruce’s face and eyes that convey all the things she can’t find the words for. It is a shattering performance and made all the more devastating because it’s so subtle.”

– Associated Press

★★★★

“Remarkable.”

– Slant Magazine

★★★★

“[A] gut-punch debut.”

– The Independent
