★★★★
‘A great performance from Blunt makes this well-staged story of FBI operations in the murky world of the US-Mexico borderlands a cut above the ordinary.’
– Mark Kermode Observer film critic

‘A beautifully murky, hard-edged thriller. Quite simply, one of the best films of the year (2015)’.

Synopsis

From director Denis Villeneuve (Prisoners, Incendies) comes an explosive crime thriller about the war on drugs. In Spanish, SICARIO means ‘hitman’. In the lawless border area stretching between the U.S. and Mexico, just across the Rio Grande from El Paso, Texas, FBI agent Kate Macy (Emily Blunt) is on the search for a vicious drug lord. Drawn in by a CIA official (Josh Brolin) and with a government assassin on hand (Benicio Del Toro), Kate finds herself an instrumental part of a plot to bring down their dangerous target by any means necessary, forcing Kate to question everything that she believes in order to survive.
