Synopsis

A collaboration between Ms. Coppola (The Beguiled, Lost in Translation, Marie Antoinette), Italian haute couture designer Valentino and Hollywood production designer Nathan Crowley (a 2018 Oscar & BAFTA nominee for Dunkirk), this unique production of La Traviata was a sensation for Opera di Roma, breaking centuries-long house records.

The premiere in Rome attracted an international A list, including Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, Keira Knightley, Monica Bellucci, Elizabeth Hurley and Olivia Palermo, along with fashion notables including Frida Giannini and Diane von Furstenberg.

Soprano Francesca Dotto stars as the tragic courtesan Violetta Valéry who sacrifices all for love. Alongside her, the tenor Antonio Poli as Alfredo and Roberto Frontali as Giorgio, his valiant father, beg for her pardon.

With a duration of 2 hours and 20 minutes (inclusive of one intermission), the cinema screenings of La Traviata are a perfect introductory opera experience for those who may not have seen one at the cinema – or theatre – before.

Hurry – strictly limited season.
In addition to the gala events, there will be selected matinee screenings Friday April 20 to Wednesday 25. Advance bookings recommended! Full details here.
