Palace Cinemas invites you to a special Sparkling Preview of Michelle Pfeiffer’s latest, which has seen her receive a 2021 Golden Globe Nomination for Best Actress, the darkly-comic French Exit (CTC).
Join us on Friday, March 12 from 6.15pm for a glass of prosecco on arrival, before the screening commences at 6.30pm.
Sharply written with a macabre sense of humour, and adapted from the critically-acclaimed novel, French Exit offers proof that the most toxic characters can be entertaining – and even relatable – held together by a towering performance from Pfeiffer.
“So genuine in its mix of arch and earnest, idiosyncrasy and earthiness that it creates a space all for itself.” – Los Angeles Times
“With a surreal sense of humour and flirtations with the supernatural, French Exit takes us to a heightened realm where the Prices are always out of step with reality and perform an offbeat dance of death and destitution with style.” – Film Daze

“My plan was to die before the money ran out,” says 60-year-old penniless Manhattan socialite Frances Price (Michelle Pfeiffer), but things didn’t go as planned. Her husband Franklin has been dead for 12 years and with his vast inheritance gone, she cashes in the last of her possessions and resolves to live out her twilight days anonymously in a borrowed apartment in Paris, accompanied by her directionless son Malcolm (Lucas Hedges) and a cat named Small Frank—who may or may not embody the spirit of Frances’s dead husband.
