Q & A Event
Join us for a special screening of The History of Concrete on 9 and 10 October, followed by an exclusive pre-recorded Q&A with director John Wilson in conversation with comedian and film critic Alexei Toliopoulos. Guests will also receive a collectible A3 poster and a bag of 'make your own concrete' mix to take home!
In this special conversation, Wilson and Toliopoulos unpack the wonderfully strange world behind the film, from its unlikely subject matter to the creative choices that shaped this offbeat new documentary.
After the finale of his acclaimed TV series, Wilson turns his attention to the bedrock of his beloved New York City: concrete. Determined to make the definitive documentary on the world’s most widely used building material, he adopts an industry-approved Hallmark formula to make the story more appealing. But as the project takes shape, its foundations begin to crumble, sending Wilson down another characteristically funny and unexpected path through art, ambition and the realities of modern filmmaking.
