Join us for special Q&A Previews of the richly cinematic new documentary, Ellis Park, a portrait of legendary Ballarat-born musician and composer, Warren Ellis and his wildlife sanctuary. The director of the film, Australian auteur Justin Kurzel, will appear alongside Warren Ellis live in person for the Q&A following the film!

A key member of iconic bands The Dirty Three and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, multi-instrumentalist Ellis has cut a brilliant and unorthodox figure in music for over three decades. Far from the international concert halls in which he has plied his craft lies a very different passion project: a wildlife sanctuary in the forests of Sumatra, Indonesia. Co-founded by Ellis and spearheaded by the indomitable Femke den Haas, whose dedicated team of conservationists rescues trafficked and mistreated animals and then devotes years to nursing them back to health.

Acclaimed director Justin Kurzel (Snowtown, True History of the Kelly Gang and Nitram) masterfully captures Ellis' many passions and facets - his musical career, animal activism, and formative years in Ballarat - and seamlessly brings them together in a compelling and satisfying melody.
