Synopsis

Expanding upon the world created by Danny Boyle and Alex Garland in '28 Years Later', 28 YEARS LATER: THE BONE TEMPLE is a bold and unsettling new chapter, directed by Nia DaCosta, who takes a fearless and nuanced command of the genre. Taking the foundations of the franchise and turning them on their head, this follow-up deepens the mythology with a sharper psychological edge, pushing the series into darker and more morally complex territory. Here, infection is no longer the sole agent of decay - ideology and cult belief shape behaviour as violently as the virus itself. Continuing the epic story, Dr. Kelson (Ralph Fiennes) finds himself in a shocking new relationship with consequences that could change the world as it is known, while Spike (Alfie Williams) is drawn into a nightmare he cannot escape after an encounter with cult leader Jimmy Crystal (Jack O’Connell). Unnerving, provocative and relentlessly tense, 28 YEARS LATER: THE BONE TEMPLE reframes the franchise’s central horror. Under DaCosta’s masterful direction and Garland’s thematically ambitious screenplay, an apocalyptic vision unfolds that explores the extremes of human darkness, while never losing sight of what remains fragile and beautiful.
