IFF26 A Brief Affair

Pilar Fogliati (Somebody to Love IFF25), Adriano Giannini (Family Matters IFF24), and Valeria Golino (Fuori IFF25) star in this suspenseful and mischievous romance written and directed by acclaimed Italian screenwriter Ludovica Rampoldi (Gomorrah – the series) in her feature directorial debut. The fates of two couples, thirtysomethings Lea and Andrea, and Rocco and Cecilia, twenty years older, collide by chance one night when Lea (Fogliati) and Rocco (Giannini) meet by chance in a bar and an instant attraction ignites between them. They begin a secret affair, consisting of fleeting, clandestine meetings in a hotel room. What seems at first to be an ordinary case of infidelity becomes obsessive as time passes. Lea tries to intrude more and more into Rocco’s life, with events taking an unsettling turn when she becomes a patient of Rocco’s therapist wife (a brilliant Valeria Golino). Combining romance, comedy and thriller, A Brief Affair explores the complexity of relationships, love and passion through the unexpected twists of this fling turned love story.
