Synopsis
Returning to cinemas this August to celebrate it’s top ten status on the New York Times Top 100 films of the 21st century, NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN is a staple in the Coen’s brother’s catalogue of gritty thrillers and the most successful film at the 2008 Academy Awards. Violence and mayhem ensue after Llewlyn Moss (Josh Brolin), local hunter, stumbles upon a drug deal gone wrong and more than two million dollars cash in the dusty, West Texas outback near Rio Grande. The hunter soon becomes the hunted when a merciless killer named Chigurh (Javier Bardem, taking home the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his role) and aging lawman Sheriff Bell (Tommy Lee Jones) both begin tracking him down in a state-spanning duck and goose chase. With a stellar supporting cast including Woody Harrelson (True Detective, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri), Kelly Macdonald (Gosford Park, Trainspotting), Beth Grant (Donnie Darko, Little Miss Sunshine) and Garret Dillahunt (12 Years a Slave, Winter’s Bone), NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN is an epic western thriller made to be celebrated on the big screen.
