From behind the Kino doors to behind the camera, join us for a special homecoming Q&A with former Palace Kino team member and director Arlo Dean Cook following a screening of Jebediah: Are We Ok? on Thursday 15 October.

Fresh from its Premiere at the 2026 Melbourne International Film Festival, Jebediah: Are We Ok? takes an intimate 30-year journey with one of Australia’s most beloved alternative rock bands. Formed in Perth in the mid-1990s, Jebediah rose from suburban rehearsal rooms and triple j airplay to become defining voices of Australian indie rock, all while maintaining a friendship that has endured long beyond the whirlwind of early success.

Filmed over 11 years and drawing on more than three decades of personal archives, home movies and live performances, Cook’s candid documentary charts the highs of fame alongside the harder realities of growing up together. Featuring Kevin Mitchell, Brett Mitchell, Vanessa Thornton and Chris Daymond, with perspectives from Australian music icons including Tim Rogers, Phil Jamieson and Janet English, the film is as much a story of friendship and survival as it is of music.

Following the screening, Cook returns to Palace Kino for a special post-film Q&A, sharing the remarkable journey of bringing the band’s story to the screen at the very cinema where he was once part of the team.
