Turn the tables on Britain’s greatest interviewer at the 2026 Russell Hobbs British Film Festival with the World Premiere screening of Parky at Palace Norton Street on Sunday 8 November, followed by an exclusive post-film Q&A with directors Luke Mazzaferro and Luke Cornish. Plus, enjoy a complimentary glass of prosecco or mocktail upon arrival!
How did a miner’s son from working-class Yorkshire become Britain’s most celebrated interviewer, beloved by millions and knighted by the Queen, yet never truly believe he belonged?
From the producers of Academy Award® nominated documentary Porcelain War comes this revelatory portrait of Sir Michael Parkinson, the brilliant and complicated man behind ‘Parky’, Britain’s greatest interviewer.
Told through Sir Michael Parkinson’s own words and revelatory testimony from those closest to him, including his youngest son Mike Parkinson, this intimate portrait looks beyond the beloved ‘Parky’ icon to reveal a brilliant and complicated man who spent a lifetime drawing the truth from others while keeping his own carefully hidden.
Directed by Luke Mazzaferro (Whistle) and Luke Cornish (Dance Life), Parky features a treasure trove of archival footage from some of his most famous interviews, including with Australians Kylie Minogue, Andrew Denton, Dame Edna Everage, Bob Hawke, and more.
