Sparkling Preview Event: NT Live: Golden Boy

After its sell-out run at London’s Almeida Theatre, National Theatre Live brings Golden Boy to Palace! See Emmy and Golden Globe winner Josh O’Connor (The Crown, Challengers) return to the stage 11 years on at our special Sparkling Preview Event on Friday 13 November and enjoy a complimentary glass of sparkling wine upon arrival!

Set in 1930s New York at the height of the Depression, gifted young violinist Joe Bonaparte (O’Connor) is torn between a future in music and the seductive promise of fame and fortune in the brutal world of professional boxing. Pressured by ambition, family expectations and forbidden love, Joe must decide what he is willing to sacrifice in pursuit of success.

Directed by Olivier Award winner Sam Yates (Vanya) and brought to life with a live string quartet, Golden Boy is a searing, propulsive exploration of ambition, identity and the high price of success, filmed live on stage at the Almeida Theatre.
