Opening Day Offer: Fatherland

Fresh from winning Best Director at the Cannes Film Festival, Academy Award-winning filmmaker Paweł Pawlikowski (Cold War, Ida) returns with Fatherland, an exquisitely crafted historical drama starring Sandra Hüller (Anatomy of a Fall) and Hanns Zischler. Experience this highly anticipated Cannes winner for less at our Opening Day Offer on November 12, with discounted tickets all day for Palace Movie Club Members!

Shot in luminous black and white, Fatherland follows Nobel Prize-winning author Thomas Mann (Zischler) and his daughter Erika (Hüller) as they embark on an emotional journey through a divided, post-war Germany. Travelling from US-controlled Frankfurt to Soviet-controlled Weimar in the summer of 1949, Thomas returns after sixteen years in exile to confront a nation in ruins and the deep fractures within his own family.

Elegant, haunting and emotionally charged, Fatherland is a beautifully observed exploration of family, identity and the lingering wounds of history, brought to life through Pawlikowski’s masterful visual storytelling.
