BFF26 Extra Geography

The feature film debut from BAFTA-winning director Molly Manners (One Day), this funny, authentic coming-of-age story is an intimate snapshot of the challenges and joys of teenage girlhood. Flic and Minna are best friends and high achievers at a British girls’ boarding school, fiercely focused on their futures and making it into the best possible university. Their love language is academic excellence, but their intimate friendship is challenged when they decide to become more "worldly" and embark on their big summer project to fall in love with the next person they see, who happens to be their geography teacher, Miss Delavigne (Alice Englert). But as Flic and Minna take part in the school production of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" alongside a boys' school, their close friendship comes under tension as real feelings come to the surface. Adapted by Miriam Battye (Succession) from a short story by Rose Tremain, and featuring breakout performances from Marni Duggan and Galaxie Clear, EXTRA GEOGRAPHY is a romantic and bittersweet story of growing pains and teenage nostalgia.
