‘A Queen is Crowned’ re-released into cinemas as part of HM’s Diamond Jubilee Celebrations
CinemaLive and Park Circus have joined forces to release the remastered version of ‘A Queen is Crowned’ this May/June, in celebration of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee.
‘A Queen is Crowned’ is the only colour film of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II’s 1953 coronation ceremony, narrated by Sir Laurence Olivier. Upon its original release, the film won a BAFTA, a Golden Globe Award and was nominated for an Oscar at the 26th Annual Academy Awards.
This will be the first time this lavish documentary has been seen in cinemas since its initial release 60 years ago. Rights owners ITV Studios Global Entertainment have carefully restored the film in time for this historic occasion.
