BBFF22: Triangle of Sadness

CTC 159 MIN
Watch Trailer

Synopsis

BBFF’s Opening Night is always a glittering affair, setting the scene for a spectacular 10-day international film festival.

This year, 2022 Palme D’or winner, Triangle of Sadness, takes centre stage for our special celebration of Byron and Film. Walk the red carpet, mingle with filmmakers and enjoy fine wine, tasty treats and the company of other film-lovers and aficionados at BBFF’s Opening Party, held before the film. But…with limited tickets available, please be sure to book early, and turn up early to get the most from your evening!

In Ruben Östlund’s wickedly funny Palme d’Or winner, Triangle of Sadness, social hierarchy is turned upside down, revealing the tawdry relationship between power and beauty. Celebrity model couple, Carl (Harris Dickinson) and Yaya (Charlbi Dean), are invited on a luxury cruise for the uber-rich, helmed by an unhinged boat captain (Woody Harrelson). What first appeared Instagrammable ends catastrophically, leaving the survivors stranded on a desert island and fighting for survival.

Make the most of the event with 6:30pm Red Carpet Arrivals & Opening Party before the film begins at 8:00pm!

- BBC

"The best Cannes film so far…. magnificently outrageous … I’m not ashamed to say I roared with laughter throughout. "

- TELEGRAPH UK

"The perfect comedy for our times."

- TIME OUT

"The best movie involving a boat since ‘Titanic'... a new take on ‘Lord of the Flies’ that you won’t soon forget."
