A universal and timeless story about student couple madly in love with each other in a country overwhelmed by a rebellion of young people against authorities that want to take away their spiritual freedom, civil liberties and a sense of national identity.
Warsaw, March 1968. Students take to the streets protesting against the unlawful expulsion of their colleagues from university and the banned performance of romantic play „Dziady” staged at the National Theatre. Among the protesting youth are Hania and Janek, whose families are on both sides of the March barricade. In the midst of chaos and anxiety, lovers try to overcome adversity. Will their love survive?
"Krzysztof Lang skilfully uses real events to offer a suspenseful production. Contrary to the title, this is not a story specifically about "March '68."
- Spider's Web
"March '68 reminds us of March 2022, and March, April, and October of any other year. It is about a situation where people - young, old, everyone - have to leave their homes, families, their loved ones, and run away. Start all over again."
