Synopsis

15 years since it sank its teeth into cinemas, Let the Right One In continues to be a subversive piece of romantic horror, haunting audiences with atmospheric cinematography and subdued yet powerful performances. Exploring various themes such as friendship, love, loneliness and the darker side of human nature, the film skillfully combines elements of horror, romance, and a classic coming-of-age story.

Set in the early 1980s in a suburb of Stockholm and based on the 2004 novel of the same title by John Ajvide Lindqvist, we meet Oskar, a 12-year-old boy who is frequently bullied at school. One night, he meets a peculiar girl named Eli who moves into the apartment next door, and the bond that forms changes their lives forever.

Praised for its unique take on the vampire genre (never actually uttering the V-Word in the film), atmospheric storytelling, and exploration of themes beyond the supernatural, Let the Right One In eclipses the boundaries of genre to become a classic among fans of horror and art-house cinema alike.
