Palace Cinemas invites you to a Sangria Reception of Official Competition, a bitingly funny behind-the-scenes satire of filmmaking.

Join us for a complimentary glass of Sangria to kick off the fiesta before witnessing Penélope Cruz and Antonio Banderas blast through the number 1 film of the 2022 Moro Spanish Film Festival.

From Argentine duo Gastón Duprat and Mariano Cohn, Official Competition amusingly punctures the egos and pretensions of the privileged artist class with stand-out performances from its stars. Finding his legacy lacking in prestige, an octogenarian tycoon (José Luis Gómez) impulsively decides to finance a great work of cinema. Renowned filmmaker Lola Cuevas (Penélope Cruz) is recruited to mastermind this ambitious endeavour. The film’s brash and colourfully farcical stars Félix (Antonio Banderas) and Iván  (Oscar Martínez) are pitted against each other through a series of increasingly eccentric trials set by Lola, and must confront not only each other, but also their own legacies.

So, who will be left when the cameras finally start rolling?
