A wonderful family film adapted from Edith Nesbit's much-loved 1906 novel, The Railway Children follows the adventures of the Waterbury Children - Bobbie (Jenny Agutter), Phyllis (Sally Thomsett) and Peter (Gary Warren). After the enforced absence of their father, the children move with their mother (Dinah Sheridan) to Yorkshire, where they occupy themselves by watching the trains and attempt to discover the reason for their father’s disappearance.

"The film - which sticks closely to E Nesbit's original dialogue and glows with a rural, pre-World War One innocence - is a classic in its own right."
- Daily Telegraph
"This is a lovely film, in the same spirit as The Secret Garden, or many other British tales of plucky children facing adversity with courage and grace."
