Twelve-year-old Mully (Charlie Reid) has recently lost his mother and upon discovering his debt-ridden father has stolen charity money raised in her name, Mully flees the scene in a stolen taxi. It is soon revealed that Joy, an inadvertent mother, has decided to give her child away to a friend and leave the country.
