Synopsis

Written by its star Krew Boylan, SERIOUSLY RED is rowdy and rambunctious love letter to country queen Dolly Parton. The Australian musical dramedy features tremendously fun yet touching performances from its cast including Emmy winner Bobby Cannavale as a delightfully deadpan former Neil Diamond impersonator and Emmy nominee Rose Byrne who is almost unrecognisable as an Elvis impersonator.

Red (Krew Boylan) is a vivacious, clumsy and occasionally misguided redhead who is at a crossroads in her life. After misreading her work party’s dress code, Red trades her 9-to-5 job in real estate for a new career as a Dolly Parton impersonator. Despite the advice of her loyal best friend Francis, Red finds herself swept up in the glamourous world of touring her act with a disconcertingly method-acting Kenny Rogers (Daniel Webber).

Filled with classic Dolly singalongs, the narrative feature debut from director Gracie Otto is seriously fun crowd-pleaser that finishes on a high note.
