Director Luca Guadagnino (Call Me By Your Name) has been attached to direct an untitled project with Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg (Superbad, Pineapple Express) penning the screenplay. The project is based on the 2017 documentary “Scotty and the Secret History of Hollywood” by Matt Tyrnauer, a portrait of unsung Hollywood legend Scotty Bowers, whose memoir chronicled his decades spent as a sexual procurer to the stars.
Fox Searchlight began developing the movie two years ago after the documentary was released. “Scotty” follows Bowers, a World War II Marine combat veteran who fought at the Battle of Iwo Jima and became a legendary bisexual male hustler and all-purpose purpose date arranger for Hollywood movie stars from the 1940s until the 1980s.
The memoir “Full Service” was published in 2012. He had not discussed the information prior to publication but decided to come forward with his story because most of the people involved have now passed, including Bowers who died at the age of 96 last year.
Though Guadagnino and writing partners Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg is an interesting collaboration on paper, we eagerly look forward to seeing how this film turns out!
